Garlick
Collection
Objects given in 1932 by Herbert Garlick, a local butcher, formed the
earliest collection at Trowbridge Museum.
He was interested in the history of his town and collected prints, paintings,
photographs and maps. There are only 90 items in this collection which
was used by Trowbridge Urban District Council to decorate the walls of
the Town Hall.
With money left by Herbert's brother Perkins, the Town Council finally
set up a Museum in the Garlick Room of the Civic Hall in 1976.
