Aah, the Spring – flowers are in bloom, little lambs are gambolling about the fields and Easter is here! What more could you want…other than some more great holiday workshops with Trowbridge Museum. We’ve got a some woolly things and an Easter craft. They are at a number of venues so do make a note of where.
If you have a SEND child that would benefit from attending a quieter activity then please call us and we will try to accommodate you.
Friday 12th April: Woollen Workshop (In the Guide Hut)
10.30 – 16.00
£3 per person
Discover the amazing story of Trowbridge’s woolly past. Lots of woollen-themed activities await including card-weaving, natural dyeing, some challenges and puzzles and a woollen mouse hunt around the town. Yes, the famous Museum mice will return – but will you be able to find them all? This activity cost £3 per person and is ideal for children and parents alike. Children must be 8+ to participate, parents can be any age, or in fact, can be Grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc, etc.
You can reserve places on Ticketsource and pay on the day. This workshop is a drop-in and all of the activities will be available through the day – if at any time the venue reaches capacity you may have to wait until space becomes available.
Tuesday 16th April: Woolly Animals (In the Shires Atrium)
Drop-in 10.30 – 12.30 and 1.30 – 3.30
Join us in the Shires for some simple woolly animal crafts. You can make lambs, sheeps, Mangolitza pigs, cows, cats, dogs, chickens and ducks (technically feathered), etc. Suitable for ages 5+.
Wednesday 17th April: Easter Baskets (In the Museum)
Sessions at 10.30, 11.30, 1.30 & 2.30
Get ready for Easter with our woven Easter Basket workshop. A lovely activity that we’ve run many times before, we’ll even through in some mini eggs! This will be the final holiday workshop in the old museum before we move out and and the builders move in. A momentous day you could say.
You can reserve a place online at www.ticketsource.co.uk or pick up a ticket from the Museum entrance from 10am and 1pm. Suitable for ages 7+.
Unfortunately, this activity is not suitable for large childminding groups.
Please Note: Spaces in our workshops are limited and they sometimes fill up quickly. If you would like to bring a group of 5 or more children or a larger childminding group please call in advance (01225 751339) and we will try to accommodate you. Where places can be reserved on Ticketsource there will usually be additional tickets available on the day, issued on a first come, first served basis.
All children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Whilst we indicate a minimum age for each activity we are aware that younger children often attend with older siblings. We are generally happy for younger children to participate, but please be prepared to give them the support they require. We can provide paper and crayons to keep toddlers occupied – please ask us.
