Continuing our series of Thursday Night Talks we have three more coming up in the autumn. We start on the16th August with Multicultural Trowbridge, followed by Trowbridge and WW1 on November 15th and concluding on 13th December with A History of Christmas. The talks will draw on images and objects from the Museum’s collections and there will be items to handle from the handling collection. The talks cost £7 and include wine and nibbles. Tickets can be booked at or pop into the Information Centre at St Stephen’s Place. December talk includes mulled wine and Christmas treats.

The Museum will be open from 7pm – please access the Shires using the ASDA entrance. Parking is available in the ASDA car park after 8pm. The Museum has wheelchair access. Please notify us if you have mobility issues – 01225 751339.

Thursday 16th August: Multicultural Trowbridge
From the time of the Norman conquest in the C11th to the present day Trowbridge, has played host to many incomers. In this talk David Birks will outline who, when and why people came to Trowbridge and what happened to those communities and to the Town.

Thursday 15th November: Trowbridge and WW1
To commemorate the end of the First World War the Learning and Outreach Officer’s latest talk tells the story of how the WW1 impacted on the town.

Thursday 13th December: A History of Christmas
This fascinating talk uncovers the facts behind Christmas. The price includes mulled wine and tasty Christmas treats.
